The importance of when and why you prune or trim can’t be ignored. For the most part, the major reasons for
trimming and pruning
are to improve the looks of your property, prevent breakage of large limbs, and to encourage the health/growth of your tree, avoiding disease.
Trimming during the different seasons can produce results that can vary from excellent to very poor. For example, winter is a good time to prune as the trees are dormant. Pruning in the winter will help accelerate spring growth.
There are good reasons to trim in the summer. It’s generally easier to see the problem spots on a tree in the summer.
